Dark at the Edges

An original expressionist oil landscape painting on canvas of of a coastal scene in West Cork. On a visit to a nearby beach as the tide was going out, I was fascinated by the skim of water and the beautiful reflections which would be gone in a hour or two, so I tried to capture it while it was there. The palette is mainly grey and green tones, brown umber, cadmium red and ochre. I use a palette knife to achieve texture and interest in my paintings.
